One morning, while driving my children to school, the sky was this beautiful purple and pink color while the trees covered in a light frost that made them look silver. The full moon hung low as it was about to set. I remember thinking that it would be a shame to miss this sight and I thought about all the people gone from my life who couldn't see this. It was later that day that Heath Ledger died. While I didn't come close to knowing him personally, his characters in various movies inspired me and helped me through some hard times. My trees remind me that it's all a cycle and no matter what happens, we have to keep growing. While this painting is not for sale - it was sold the day after it was finished to a friend who saw it - I am doing more in the series, so stay tuned here for more on their way.
